SECURICO Security swings for impact

Securico MD Divine Simbi-Ndhlukula LINDA MUNYAMA Z imbabwe’s first ISO-certified security company, Securico will host a charity golf day to support marginalized rural learners in Gutu as part of its celebrations for its 25th anniversary. The golf event is scheduled to take place on October 18 at the Harare Country Club next week. Securico is looking to enhance digital skills for rural learners in Gutu where the group successfully set up a Mbuya Mary Simbi Library in 2020 and also opened a computer lab. “As team Securico, as we continue to celebrate our silver jubilee that is 25 years of quality and excellence we will be ‘putting’ for impact at Harare Country Club on the 18th of October 2024. Our stakeholders will be joining us for this charity golf day where we are putting to bring more digital skills for our rural learners in Gutu where we set up a library with a lot of books in 2020 and we set up a computer lab early this year,” the founder and managing director of Securico, Divine Simbi-Ndhlukula said. “This time around we are making sure that we are increasing on digitalisation so that there is no difference between a young learner from Gutu and a learner from Germany. This is why we are going to install the internet and a lot more digital tools to ensure that the seven schools with 4,000 learners will be impacted and they will be on the same level as any other kid in in the world. “The mantra for the Mbuya Mary Simbi library is ‘Opening new worlds through education.’ Certainly, this is why we believe the digital tools that we are putting in that place will be opening a new world for rural learners,” she said. Some of the corporate sponsors include EcoCash Zimbabwe, ZB Financial Holdings, Maisha, Croco Motors, Premier Corporate Gifts, Delta Beverages, Zimtile, Firstlink Insurance Brokers, Cell Insurance Zimbabwe, Generation Health, College Press Publishers and Zimplats. Adapt or get left behind

Adaptability – it’s a word that is synonymous with entrepreneurs. It’s defined as the ability or willingness to change in order to suit different conditions. In business, change is constant, and in order to survive and thrive, it’s essential to remain open to new ideas in response to the marketplace. You need to keep testing your strategy, your business plan, and your product offerings to ensure they remain vital and relevant. You need to keep talking to your customers, getting feedback, finding out what they need and want in a changing world. You need to identify possible risks to your business due to changing market demands or realities and develop mitigation strategies before those risks turn into a crisis. Importantly, you also need to be honest with yourself and change the direction of your business if you feel it is becoming out of touch with the marketplace. Just think back to those iconic business names of the past that failed to adapt to the changing world, and as a result, were left behind – Kodak, the camera and film brand that didn’t see the digital picture revolution coming, and the Zimbabwe Postal Services  are  classic examples. Adaptability is a key quality for success – make sure it is a trait you develop too. At SECURICO, we have tried to be relevant to responding to the market’s pain points when it comes to security issues. Currently, due to many people keeping large or small sums of cash at their offices or homes, armed robberies have shot up.  We have come up with a solution that takes care of that removes people from exposing themselves to the risk of being attacked. It is therefore imperative to have the agility to quickly change course when the situation demands, obviously after doing all the due diligence and risk mitigation analysis.
